Tips Dalam Membuat Surat Lamaran Kerja

Tip Menulis Surat Lamaran Kerja
Berikut ini adalah beberapa tips sederhana yang dapat diterapkan pada saat menyusun surat lamaran :

  1. Lampirkan daftar riwayat hidup atau biasa disebut CV / curriculum vitae atau resume. Sertakanlah CV yang baik pada saat mengirimkan surat lamaran
    Pergunakan ukuran kertas standar. Biasanya ukuran standar adalah ukuran kuarto (letter).
  2. Gunakan kertas warna putih. Jangan gunakan kertas berwarna pada surat lamaran anda karena akan mengurangi kesan profesional.
  3. Gunakan kertas dengan kualitas standar. Kertas yang biasa digunakan untuk surat menyurat di kantor sudah cukup, kecuali untuk posisi tertentu dapat memakai kualitas yang lebih baik seperti kertas Concorde bermotif maskulin.
  4. Gunakan tinta hitam. Penggunaan warna tinta selain hitam akan menghilangkan kesan formal pada surat lamaran kerja anda, dan bahkan dianggap tidak sesuai dengan kaidah dan etika surat-menyurat resmi.
  5. Satu halaman saja. Buatlah secara singkat dan padat. Hindari surat lamaran yang panjang dan bertele-tele.
  6. Perlihatkan Rasa Percaya Diri. Tunjukkan bahwa kita punya cukup rasa percaya diri yang tinggi namun tetap jangan sampai terlihat arogan.
  7. Gunakan kata-kata yang sopan dan wajar dan sesuai dengan kaidah bahasa. Jika ditulis dalam Bahasa Indonesia, harus sesuai dengan Ejaan Yang Disempurnakan (EYD). Jika ditulis dalam bahasa Inggris, perhatikan Grammar dan ejaannya.
  8. Hindarilah menggunakan istilah-istilah yang tidak biasa atau sulit dimengerti oleh orang lain. Asumsikan bahwa pembaca surat lamaran kerja kita adalah orang awam, sehingga sedapat mungkin gunakan istilah-istilah yang umum dipakai saja.
    Cek kembali.
  9. Jika anda telah selesai menulis surat lamaran kerja anda, disarankan untuk membaca dengan teliti beberapa kali. Bacalah dengan perlahan-lahan keseluruhan isi surat. Temukan kesalahan yang umum terjadi, seperti kesalahan penulisan, ejaan, penggunaan kata yang sama secara berulang-ulang, atau istilah yang kurang tepat.
    Sebuah kesalahan kecil dalam surat lamaran akan berakibat turunnya kredibilitas kita di mata pihak yang membacanya, karena menunjukkan bahwa kita tidak teliti dan kurang profesional.
